GRACE/GRACE-FO Science Team Meeting 2024

The GRACE/GRACE-FO Science Team Meeting (GSTM) 2024 took place at the Helmholtz Centre Potsdam – GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences, Potsdam, Germany, from 8 to 10 October 2024.

Session recordings for on-demand view:All registered participants have the opportunity to watch recordings of the oral sessions until 10 November 2024. Corresponding videos are linked as session materials when browsing the meeting program.

The meeting was held in a hybrid format with a total number of 163 participants (on-site: 103, online: 60).

The meeting will be held in a hybrid format with a time schedule adjusted to local time at Germany (morning and afternoon sessions). Remote participants will be able to join the oral sessions (Live) using Zoom including the option to give an oral presentation. It is planned that recordings of the oral sessions can be viewed on demand to account for time zone differences. The option to present a poster is only available for on-site participants.

As usual, the GSTM2024 featured several topical sessions on specific themes. The program was composed of 66 oral presentations (57 thereof presented on-site in Potsdam, the others presented virtually via Zoom) and 20 posters (available for on-site participants only).

The meeting started with a detailed GRACE-FO Project Status session (A.1) providing an overview of the various activities and plans of the US-German GRACE-FO Science Data System in terms of data processing and mission operations. The following sessions covered the topics analysis techniques of GRACE/GRACE-FO mission data (A.2), the planned successor mission GRACE-C and Next Generation Gravity Missions (A.3), the Earth’s mean gravity field (A.4), and applications of mass transport data in the fields of solid Earth sciences (B.1), cryosphere (B.2), oceanography (B.3), hydrology (B.4), and multidisciplinary science (B.5).
